To sustain and develop our wide range of activities and support, Downs and Special Friends rely entirely on grants, funding opportunities, and fundraising.
The key to successful fundraising efforts is having strong connections with local businesses and communities. We offer a variety of opportunities for businesses to get involved in fundraising activities that benefit their teams and raise funds for Downs and Special Friends.
Whether the funds raised are large or small, each makes a difference.
We’re always looking for new fundraising ideas. During the year, we host various events and we would love for you to join us! Please let us know of any other activities you think could serve as a great fundraiser.

Rehana Badat
Rahana ran Desbury 10K in 2018 and raised substantial amount for DNSF group.
Rehana has an older sister Ayisha who has Down Syndrome and also other learning disabilities.

Ismail Patel
Ismail is truly one of a kind. He runs his races using a walking stick. After suffering from a brain haemorrhage in 2009, ismail has truly worked hard to regain his health and mobility.
You will see him around Batley training for his next challenge. As i write this he is preparing himself to complete a 15th 10K run on 3rd July 2022.
Ismail ran Dewbsury 10k for DNSF group and raised substantial amount.
Our group is indebt to Ismail. may lord bless him with a good and long healthy life.
